Aha, one more!
Welcome and feel free to ask us any questions regarding openSUSE Linux.
The learning curve isn't really too big. I made the move to Linux and was speaking pure, fluent Linux in less than a week!

Anyway, to the others: Measuring the number of users on the forums is not a good way to measure the popularity of openSUSE. Who knows, the 'new' members, the ones with less than 10 posts, might be more experienced Linux users than you, only that they don't post help on the forums due to personal reasons.
And there must be literally thousands of openSUSE users or contributors who are not forum members, but participate in other ways. So don't follow the Distrowatch way of measuring popularity by statistics and meaningless figures... which are exceedingly inaccurate.

Statistics mean nothing, agreed. But today we see 36476 members. Thread started in June 2009. This means growth, and not just a bit, no matter what's causing the growth. And then there are the nttp guests posting here.
Glad you're all here !!!

I figured that I midaswell throw a quick post/intro here too. I didn't see any place for just introductions. Just changed over to openSUSE (well over the last couple of months from Windows XP. Been using pretty much Windows based OS' for what seems an eternity (first started plaing around when it was still 3.11 if I remember right). I also played with some apple machines back in the late 80's and early 90's. I love how much more simple things are to work with.

There are still things I need to figure out, but i'm not worried about it.

Well, welcome to our forum. Some links that may help you IF you are using openSUSE-11.1:
Note openSUSE-11.2 is due to be released tomorrow.

The suse/opensuse community has been great since my beginning with suse 9.0 64b.
This distro has everything right, solid, robust, the best integration , very attractive graphics and very complete repositories. This forum and the mail list makes the whole thing a wonderful experience.
Cheers to all

10 minutes time for editing, looks like timeout for your post.
