1. hover your mouse pointer over the beginning point of the address
2. press and hold left mouse button
3. drag to the end of the address
4. release left mouse button

the result is the entire address is highlighted AND automatically
stored in a clipboard memory....that is to say you may now (without
any more clicks on the address) place your mouse cursor over any place
that will accept the url, and double click...when you do the address
will appear in its new location!

OR, if you wish--while that original address is highlighted in the
address bar you may use key combinations to copy it (ctrl+c OR
ctrl+insert) to a different clipboard location...that is to say, note
unlike windows, Linux by default has TWO clipboard locations....one if
you only use the mouse sweep to highlight, and another one if you use
the keyboard keys..
