Mmmm, AFAIK, Akonadi can be integrated with KAddressbook.

So if your kaddressbook was linked in someway with Akonadi and you removed
some Akonadi related stuff, it's quite possible that your address book
cannot find the new contacts but your data maybe still there, under any
Akonadi config folders, dunno exactly where to watch :-?.

You can perform a search to find all "*.vcf" files.
