Just to clear up some facts about the stats. As Keith stated, no users were actually "moved" over but as Matt stated, users from the old communities did come over and register here so you can count them as "moving over" in a manner of speaking. Bottom line, we now have over 30,000 registered users. In looking at the detailed stats, of those total registered users, about 2500 of them are what I call an active user. How I know that, I'm not telling because it's used in helping to keep spam down.

Also you have to keep in mind that people that just show up here, look around, then go away are NOT counted in that 30,000 nor are NNTP users who haven't logged into the web interface. People actually have to login here to be counted in that 30,000....not an easy forum login, but actually create a Novell login.
As for current online users, some of the "guest" users are definitely search engine bots. Currently I see: 33 members and 1687 guests. Remeber that the login here has a 60 minute timeout so it gets rid of those guest connections that aren't doing anything. Of course not all of those are legit users but it's just an indicator of the health of our forums which is doing really well for the little over a year we've been online. I actually reset the most users online counter a few months ago because there was a day back in December that the login system wasn't quite working right and it skewed the stats.
Matt, as for calling the folks that worked the process "Mickey Mouse" then going on to say Keith deserves everything he gets is bordering on a violation of the T&C which states:

So consider this a friendly warning to be careful about such derogatory and potentially harassing comments here.
Though stats aren't always very accurate or a good indicator of the health of a community, I see we DO have a vibrant, healthy community here. That's what counts. Arguing over statistics isn't productive. 30,000 *is* a significant registration milestone and I, for one, celebrate it

and am looking forward to the 40,000 mark.
