Default Re: SupremeFX X-Fi Audio Card

I assume you would need a creative x-fi driver for this;

if you google search on

Quote:
linux creative x-fi driver
it says there is no definitive working driver:

Creative releases Linux X-Fi driver under the GPL - Ars Technica

[Phoronix] Creative Gives In, They Open-Source Their X-Fi Driver

so sorry about that; I had read that drivers would be built into the 2.6.31 kernel that is being developed but that would be some months to year to appearing in a distro;

some have suggested one purchase a sound card that is compatible;

this is the list of compatible hardware that forum members have contributed to:

Hardware - openSUSE

and here is the sound card section

HCL/Sound Cards - openSUSE

you could similarly google search on "linux compatible sound cards"

quite a bit of what folks can derive from linux is what they put into it; so some may have the inclination to read about these topics; and bring what they have learned back to the forum; we hope you enjoy OpenSUse
