After starting KNetworkManager, I noticed that when right-clicking on it, it said that NetworkManager is not running. Apparently, you have to give users permission to manipulate the network (an option on the General tab in YaST ==> Network Devices ==> Network Settings). Except that I didn't find any option for KNetworkManager, only for KInternet. Well, I am particular about that, KInternet seems like a solid tool.
