Default vnc to virtual server

Hi all there,
I do have meanwhile some years of gambling arround with suse linux. Since I am used to work with windows, I am not a command line junky, so I mostly try to use KDE.

I have now rented a OpenSuse 10.3 virtual server from some service provider in the net.

I do have ssh access, which brings me to the command line level. As I said before, I would prefere to have a KDE GUI if possible.

So I started yast2 and installed KDE on the machine. Tightvnc is installed by default and I wanted to try to connect now from my windows home machine to the linux server via vnc.

I can get to the server on standard port 5901. I do get a screen which looks like a graphical interface, that offers the user-id to enter and afterwards the password.

Once the password is entered, I can see for a millisecone "Login successfull" but then the window crashes.

Can anyone give me a hint what to install to get KDE3 or KDE4 running on 10.3 and let me get a vnc connection working with KDE as the GUI.

The server is a virtual server and does neither have a physical terminal nor a graphics card installed.
I have installed sax but could not get it running.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Karl-Heinz
