One of the problems can be because the app that calls for verification off
the CD will probably be hard-coded to look for a cd in drives that are named
like windows ie. C/D/E/F or by looking for a windows mount point.
Now I have not looked into it much so I could be way off base here but if
that is the case then it will no way find it on linux because it will not
understand or comprehend how to find the drive.
as caf says have a look at wine and see if there are any hints or tips on
how to make a mount point look like a windows one I have no idea if this is
possible though.
The window games I use on linux are all no-cd`d and work fine however they
are a bit long in the tooth :-) or they run naturally under linux like Doom
1/2/3, UT, ET, NWN etc....
