Okay then.

While we are fixing your Computer menu use the native GNOME menu (it's called maybe traditional GNOME menu or Custom Menu - add with right click to your panel > Add Applet).
Version: open a GNOME application example
gedit. Open the About menu and select
About GNOME. Copy+paste here the version.
