I spent a good deal of time getting desktop effects to work again after I upgraded to 11.1. I had trouble getting the right nvidia driver installed.
Desktop effects work but when I play a video at youtube the sound and video "stutters" and is not usable. The video is delayed a long time before it begins to jump around and the audio is nothing but repeated screeches that temporarily survive the closing of the window. In one thread, it was suggested there was a connection with the video problem and desktop effects. Sure enough, if I turn off desktop effects and restart Firefox, the problem goes away.
Is there anyway youtube and desktop effects can live in harmony?
