I actually copyd my mails from hotmail to gmail with an HTTP connection for hotmail and IMAP for gmail. I simply followed instructions here:
How to Transfer and Move Hotmail to Gmail » My Digital Life
This has the advantage that no 3rd party is involved and is thus more secure.
