I'm sorry I can't help you but probably you could help me.

I have the same laptop with opensuse 10.2 (my previous experiences, advice me, to wait before upgrade ;-))
but on my configuration I'm not able to make 3d working in opuensuse 10.2 too.
A second drawback is that unlike under windowz I'm not able to switch from local LFP to DFP during a session.
I have to chose the monitor at the start up so I can't switch during the session to the other monitor.

Would you exchange information about your driver and xorg configuration file?
