Hi,

I just acquired my new hp-notebook dv2007 and and installed suse 10.1 (32bit) last night. Franly, I didn' t have very high expectations for installation but everything went actually pretty smoothly with exception, ethernet and sound don' t work.
Notebook has nForce 430 chipset, I think and as far as I know there has been some similar problems with this chipset, but I haven' t found solution from web to this. Nvidia website says that drivers should be included in kernel.

Is there any solution to make ethernet and sound work or do I just have to wait next Suse version?
I have also tried Kubuntu 6.06 live cd, sound and ethernet worked ok, but when I installed to hard disk, ethernet failed to work. (Anyway I have used to work with Suse and rather install it than kubuntu)

Here are some specifications of notebook:

HP DV2007EA
AMD Turion 64 X2 -mobile TL-50
1024 MB Memory
100 GB HD
NVIDIAŽ GeForce Go 6150
Nforce 430 (I think, it says MCP51 Ethernet Controller and sound controller)

I have used 3-4 years daily linux, but I'm not very good at technical side of Suse.

Thanks for any suggestions,

/haupitsi

P.S. Should I give try to 64 bit version of Suse 10.1?
