Here's the entire story...

After getting ubuntu from ShipIt I quickly popped the mac install disk into my computer and held 'c' while I rebooted

nothing...

So I spent the next hour figuring out OpenFirmware to boot from cd manually, after figuring...
boot cd:,\install\yaboot

I continued with the install... X didn't startup right... it just hangs... so I decided to try OpenSuse...

Downloading the install from network ISO from opensuse.org I continued to burn it to disk and boot up from it. took me forever to get the mirror set... but I finally got it and continued with the install...
Loading System Install 100%


Pops some things up... then
*** Starting YaST2 ***

And it stops...

I waited fifteen minutes but nothing...
I have a 30GB partition already to reformat too!!!

Thanks for your help... I'm stumped

(btw, I worked around three days on ubuntu and couldn't get it working and I had tried opensuse 10.0 a little while before that...)
