My SuSE 10.0 is only 3 days old and using a variety of help from various sites, I managed to get my Canon i850 working for several applications, including Gimp and Firefox. My problem is opening the BJ window with the Maintenance tab.
# bjcups i850 javascript:emoticon(':angry:')opens a window called Canon Pixus 850i with only Main and Page Setup tabs. How can I get the ink low messages etc.?

I just found your post of 24 October and added bjfilter-common-2.50 (in hope; previously I had installed bjfiltercups-2.2 and bjfilterpixus850i-2.2 and these made things work); but with no change.

Any ideas please?. I am about to explore the .ppd file but don't know what I'm looking for.
