Linux is not for everyone. If you think you can handle it then have at it. For now Windows is going to out perform Linux but I have a feeling that will change. As drivers and patches are released the performance of Linux will surpass Windows. Linux has better system management in every aspect, but since there are so many different versions, big companies are hesitant to give support for Linux. I myself use Linux as my only operating system. When I can't figure something out I turn to the Linux community, they can help with anything and usually much faster than any out sourced tech support in India using a script.
