True... we don't know how it happened. Knowing that would make the how to fix easier. Could be an update, custom kernel... who knows.

One fix could be what overbyte suggested in this topic. I see you tried it without success (same here). jrev was one of the posters there, so I assume (s)he read the same thing.

The only other real fix I've seen is the one that worked for us.

I have heard of folks reformating the disks to a linux fs and mounting partition one. Not an option for me because I share those files with a windows box. [/b][/quote]
Yeah. I did that once. Now I have a zip disk that even fdisk won't repair. I too like the idea of transporting large files from machine to machine and all my others including work are XP based. But now even my 250MB zips work perfectly.
