Default Ethernet not working under SUSE 10.1

I have a dual-boot SUSE 10.1 / Windows system. The Ethernet connection
works fine under Windows, but fails under SUSE 10.1.

I suspect the issue has something to do with the way DHCP is assigning an
IP. Router is 192.168.1.1 and DHCP correctly returns 192.168.1.102 under
Windows, but (oddly enough) DHCP returns 169.254.38.51 under SUSE.

Have played around with various DHCP settings and pinged my SUSE from
another computer to no avail. However, when I downgrade to SUSE 9.1 I can
get the NIC working.

Would appreciate any advise so I can finally dump Windows.
