Actually I have the python program problem fixed, it turned out I already
had python-xml on my system

now I have downloaded smart and run smart update, but now I cannot run
smart install smart-gui mainly because durring smart update my computer
failed to completely download some of the update files (because I am using
dial up and I "timed out")

now when I try to run smart install smart-gui I get an error that says:
error: Configuration is in read only mode.

I get the same error when I try to run smart update again

what do I do?
