Darrell,
I am in fact talking about JavaScript. The latest version of JavaScript is
1.5, and yes it does seem to be part of the browser. Go to
http://www.mozilla.org/js/ to learn more about it if you like.
To tell what version of JavaScript you have, go to the link from my
original post:
http://tychousa.umuc.edu
and click on the "Check your browser" link at the bottom of the page. It
will open another window with a synopsis of your browser's capabilities,
namely your Java version, JavaScript version, and whether or not you have
the Flash plugin installed.
